It’s been a while … but Mar is back with another variation. This time the Aphex Twins’ track “Avril 14th” has been reworked into a fragile sounding ballad accompanied by heartwrenching visuals. He gets a little help from one of my favourites Sjerzdene.

The Fright Night remake will drop pretty soon in a cinema near you. Even though it’s meant to be a comedy of some sort, I don’t think I will be attending any of the screenings.
You are probably scratching the back of your head and wondering how “Fright Night” and Kid Cudi add up?
Wonder no more cause there is a very simple explanation. Kid Cudi’s latest track “No one believes me” will be featured on the Fright Night soundtrack and frankly the sound and visuals fit the purpose.
Personally I really love the slightly sinister song. The video, however well directed, is kinda creepy. But hey … see what you think. You can’t say I didn’t warn you…

I could just blog the video, but the back story to this live performance video is way to interesting not to share. When the “official” music video for “Close your Eyes” came out at the of 2010 I thought it was okay and moved on to whatever was next.
Obviously I was not paying attention cause there is a lot more to The Bullits their soon to be released debut “They die by dawn and other short stories”.
The album combines visual & audio elements and basically is the story of Amelia Sparks, an ice-cold murderess awaiting execution on death row. First heard on their debut single ‘Close Your Eyes’ Sparks character is narrated by Lucy Liu and weaves in and out of the albums tracks revealing her story and the actions that lead to her formidable position.
The events are also played out in real time on The Bullitts Twitter page (http://twitter.com/#!/thebullitts) where Amelia’s diary is serialised in of the moment tweets – it also features an illustrious cast of actors such as Idris Elba who plays detective Saul Emmanuel.
Of course it’s not all gimmick cause this release features some of the worlds most respected and celebrated artists like Tori Amos, Jay Electronica, Mos Def and Roisin Murphy. Curious? … You are going to have to wait till fall of 2011.

MeLo teams up with Dr. Woo once again to bring smooth, sensual and eye capturing
visuals to the musical landscape he has created.
In this piece we step inside the dance studio with three talented females as they create an interpretive dance to MeLo’s Heartbeat. “Heartbeat” is a remix of Quadrons original track “Average Fruit” and is featured on MeLo’s timeless mixtape “More Merch“.
It doesn’t really matter if it’s soul, pop, rock or opera … this man can sing anything without losing credibility. It should come as no surprise that he rocks the hell out of the Soft Cell classic “Tainted Love”.
There is not much left to say about Mr. Blake … his highly anticipated, selftitled album is pretty much well received. The only thing left to keep the buzz going are the music video’s. His lates, the music video for Lindesfarne, is most certainly a unique experience.

This is by no means a new genre but for some reason listening to Grieves’ track “On the Rocks” which you can stream below … you can’t help but sense that there is more to this tune and those lyrics.
Grieves – On The Rocks by rhymesayers
After some research it turns out that you’re supposed to feel that way about the tracks featured on his latest album “Together/Apart” which will drop on the 21st of June 2011.
Having spent nearly two years on the road touring in support of 88 Keys and Counting, Grieves found himself returning home to a fractured reality. Reeling from turbulence in his career and heartbreak in his personal life mixed with coming down from the high of the support he received on the road Grieves conceptualized Together/Apart, an album that would address the bond music creates between each of us as individuals and as a whole despite the many distances we experience be they geographical or emotional.

Yep we can expect more freshness to come our way cause Muhsinah is about to release a 13 track EP titled “Gone“. As an appreciation for continued support from fans, she’s offering her first single “How Great” as a gift. So make sure to pay a visit to Muhsinah.com to download.
CREEP are producers DJs Lauren Flax and Lauren Dillard and word on the street is that these ladies are currently working on their album.
Something we think you should be on the look out for … that is if it sounds anything like there latest single “You” featuring Nina Sky.

The collab between Danish DJ/Producer Kenneth Bager and Alloe Blacc is a surprisingly delightful experience. Alloe’s voice adds a big chunk of soul to a tune so cheerful that it’s almost annoying. Big chance you’ve heard this one before cause there is no lack of airplay.
The reason you know this odd blend really works?! …is that you just can’t stop smiling. “The Sound of Swing” is taken from the album “Fragments From A Space Cadet 2′

Diversity. Ambition. Evolution. Those words signify what can be the most powerful tools in an artist’s arsenal. Blueprint has made a career out of tapping heavily into all three. “So Alive”, the lead single from Blueprint’s sophomore album Adventures In Counter-Culture is a perfect example where all three comfortably mesh together over a self produced frantic, 60′s inspired slice of soulful electro pop.

Last time we featured his “EARLY RISER EP” and now we can provide you with some fresh visuals to “Place in my heart” the first single of his upcoming album “EARLY RISER” on Brainfeeder. The live performance video of “Levels” surfaced way back in 2009 and was just one of many signs that after a long hiatus new music from Bilal was really heading our way. The rest is history … ”Airtight Revenge” proved to be very much worth the wait and Strange fruit music was witness to a killer performance just a few months before the album dropped.
But since this is Bilal …all he has created must be taken to a higher level at some point. So it’s no wonder that the official music video for “Levels” is directed by Flying Lotus and features none other than Erykah Badu and Shafiq Husain. Obviously this combination of participants can only result into something very interesting…just check it out!!
