Damnnn have I got an absolutely electrolicious download for you. The Finest Ego Beatmaker Compilation is an absolute headnodder must have. Noggy has a feeling that this freeload provided by Project Mooncircle, which is basically one of my favourite electronic labels at the moment, is not going to be free for long.
Only the first 1000 people are the lucky ones. For more info on the compilation you can click here but my advice is to stream & download as fast as you possibly can.
I was supposed to share this with y’all earlier but I had a though choice to make. The influence of Dilla on all beatmakers and MC’s out there grows stronger every day and it’s no wonder that on the 5th anniversary of the day he passed away …the 10th of February 2011… a lot of mixtapes surfaced on blogs all over the world.
Off all the mixtapes out there this one happens to be my favorite cause it contains Dilla inspired work of several beatmakers with different styles but despite their differences they all do justice to Dilla’s legacy…Enjoy!!

Hmmm really dig this. Cause eventhough it’s totally RJD2 for some reason it’s also totally different and therefore very interesting.
Introducing RJD2′s or better yet The Insane Warior’s latest project ..”We are the Doorways”. Now what exactly makes this release so interesting ? … Just the fact that the inspiration behind this creation happens to be horror and sci-fi film scores of the wonderfully fruitful period of 1976-1984. The musical result of this unusual perspective are a lot of electronical tunes which burst into something that could be anything from jazzy to funky to pshychedelic … but eitherway always unexpected. This musical masterpiece is available on the RJD2 bandcamp.
If now you are curious about what the abovementioned could possibly sound like. Hit the play button below and stream the video to the track “The Water Wheel”.
Or even better stream the full release below and if you dig do not forget to download “Then you hear footsteps” which is downloadable for free till it reaches the bandcamp download limit of course … anyways enjoy!!

Blogging on the regular has some privileges … that is if you go through tons of e-mail and handle the submissions with care.
“The Branches” by Long Arm was LOVE at first listen. On the Project Mooncircle Bandcamp you can read the very beautiful back story on this creation but Strangefruitmusicblog is just gonna tell it like it is.
Usually when you pick music you pick something you are in the mood for but this album kinda sets the mood for yah. In essence some pretty laid back HipHop beats laced with some jazz can be expected. To take the whole jazzy hiphop feel to a higher level just the right amount of glitchy electronics and breaks are added that give the whole thing an ambient feel from time to time and I guess that turns this one into the headnoddder you have to own in 2011.
To enjoy the whole release you’ll have to be patient until the 11th of February 2011 and to make sure you know that this will be worth the wait you can stream and download the track “When Children Sleep” below.

Since Odissee is a Strangefruitmusiblog regular I’m going to keep this one very short.
Below you can stream and download 21 very cool 2010 Oddisee production. Of course if like me your alarmed everytime this dudes name pops up you probably have most of them already. If not … be quick about it cause only the first 1000 downloads happen to be free ones.

Available for purchase on ESL
Tree of Mystery would have been just another “ordinary” mixtape if it weren’t for the live instruments that have been added to some digital beats. In other words digital meets analog. Personally I’m in love with the very laid back Clutchy Hopkins kinda vibe.
Kabanjak is one half of a German Hip Hop production and DJ Duo Ancient Astronauts and “Tree of Mystery” is his debut album and the representation of his own musical vision. I love the fact that for some odd reason you can actually hear that some of the sounds are provided by live instruments. Live instrumentation include guitars, bass, keys, kalimba, flute and melodica. Curious about how a mix of that sounds?! I figured you would be so … I included the full album stream below

This release has been available since September 2010 and would totally have been of rader if I hadn’t stumbled upon the visuals for the track “Don’t Worry” .

Hell yeah Strangefruitmusicblog allerting you on something soulful to ease into weekend mode!!
A musical collab between two of my favourite personalities Mr. Nalden and Anthony Valadez. The first one known for picking an item and the other one known for picking a tune.
Nalden announced earlier today that this mix by Anthony Valadez is one in a string of many more to come. But at the moment I’m still blown away by this certified headnodder of a mix that has Anthony Valadez’ soulful flow all over it. So start streaming and headover to Nalden.net to download this gem. But a word of warning before you do … protect ya neck!!

Volume 5 of the MPM producer series introduces two of Amsterdams most promising new producers: Full Crate and FS Green.
“Eggs And Pancakes” takes the best of both worlds – well chopped samples and so-called electronics – to express their vision of an instrumental hip-hop album in the year 2010. To purchase click here. Below you can stream to free downloads with a pretty cool electronic flow to give you a taste of what the album is going to sound like. To download click here.
The instrumental album”Makin Sound” comes out on Kilawatt on Monday 27th September but you can preview it on Bandcamp now. Below you can stream what Eric Lau has to say about his latest release.

www.bcescapades.com took tha time to put the emphasize on some familiar and some less familiar beatmakers in the Netherlands by producing a mini-documentary. The documentary (in Dutch) shows beatmakers/producers while their crate digging for gems and explain to us how their beatmaking process works.
Unfortunately the documentary is in Dutch, but the free downloadable Gemstone Beattape however is by Dutch beatmakers/producers who have the ability to mix and match on an International level. This free release features work by Bluntspeakers, Highless, RoyalMugls, Bluntsports, DM2M, Ciph Barker, MOD the black marvel, Godzwrath, Rare Villains, INCREDIBLEEMP1 & Def Dreadda.
With these names the only language you need to comprehend in order to understand that only some head nodding is required … is MUSIC!!

Jaime Meline, better known by his stage name El-P aka El-Producto is an American hip hop artist from Brooklyn, New York City. As a producer, El-p is notable for his innovative mix of bleak futurism and low fidelity sounds. His dense, claustrophobic sounds are strongly influenced by Public Enemy’s production team, The Bomb Squad, as well as innovators like Art of Noise and Nine Inch Nails.
I think the aforementioned is about all the info you need to be able to digest what you are about to hear. On the 3th of August El-p dropped his latest release “WEAREALLGOINGTOBURNINHELLMEGGAMIXXX3″ and it’s available on iTunes.
A few days ago a very cinematic video to the track “Time Won’t Tell” hit the net and I guess there was something really interesting about a video with visuals inspired by the directors childhood memory accompanied by a rather dark and mysterious beat, because I immediatly felt some research had to be done.
The outcome of this research led me to El-p’s bandcamp site where you can download a lot good music for free. Two of these tracks are featured on his latest megamixx release Whores: the movie & Meanstreak in 3 parts. I don’t have a lot to add …except that these tracks really need to be listened to and if you dig you can download these two for free but in this case I think it would be even better to purchase the whole CD.
