Thank you lord for giving me back the Common I’ve come to know and love. I didn’t hate, but just wasn’t to crazy about “Blue Sky”. But “Sweet” happens to be the kinda Common track I’ve been waitin for …

Hardcore Common fans are probably already in tha know but to make sure everybody knows …. Common has a new album coming out in December of 2011. Yesterday the video for the track “Blue Sky” his latest single dropped.
Even though ” Blue Sky“ sounds decent, I kinda hope the rest of The Dreamer/The Believer sounds less commercial. Common just sounds way better when his (usually uplifting) lyrics are accompanied by a tune with an underground feel …

Anyways a couple of months ago he dropped a free mixtape named Save Bewler: The Memoirs of Muhamad Mc Fly. Which you can download here. Why ?! There is this one amazing jazz infused hiphop track you gotta cop!! “Renaissance”. Stream and headnod below….

Seems I am not gonna regret my decision because just recently the meastro of glitch released his debut by the name of ”Mechanical Soul Ep” and it’s all that and than some.
It’s available on his bandcamp but you can stream it below first … just so you can hear I’m not playing with yah!!!

Very appreciative of this free download by Amp Live. Love the predominantly jazz infused glitchy beats with a little Hip Hop here and there.
It’s been a while since “Murder at the Discotech” and I’m pleased to see that he’s moved on to something a little less obvious and a bit more experimental. This Ep has a lot of pleasant surprises.

Azealia Banks is a 19-year-old lyricist from Harlem, NYC and at this point I haven’t got much on this young lady except for her very fresh visuals for her track 212!! The track was a free download on her soundcloud page … but when you press play you will immediately understand why it says “this track has reached it’s download limit”.

DOWNLOAD: EXILE – INTRO TO THE OUTRO MIXTAPE
Yep we are hitting you up with a genuine neck breakah. Cause once tha beat drops tha headnodding does not stop.
But most of you knew some serious hip hop was coming your way as soon as you saw ..”Exile”. Last time we heard from Exile he had fans on the edge of their seat with his AM/FM release cause the (at the time) free load “Radio Remixes” already sounded to good to be free.
I am happy to announce he is back and on the 4th of October Exile’s latest will drop. The selfproduced rap album is named “4TRAK MIND” and will be released via Soul Spazm & Dirty Science.
Of course Exile wouldn’t be Exile if he didn’t offer a little sumthin sumthin to whet your appetite and Strangefruitmusicblog wouldn’t be Strangefruitmusicblog if we didn’t hit you up with Exile’s Intro to the Outro …

Okay I have to admit I haven’t been paying much attention to The Throne (Jay Z & Kanye West) simply because every other blog does. But I am sucka for everything Otis Redding so I had to give in when the lastest Throne video hit tha web …
The audio stream hit the net ages ago … well a couple of weeks ago. But I knew this video was coming up, so I decided to wait for tha hot stuff. This dreamteam’s Ghetto Dreams is already available on iTunes but before you download you can watch the video here …

Remember the Beastie Boy’s “Hot Sauce Committee part 2″ ?! Well if you do here’s their second official video of the album. Their video for “Don’t play no game that I can’t win” is of course freaking hilarious. But don’t let the dolls fool yah … this action packed music video was directed by none other than the legendary Spike Jonze.

Damnn Mr. Tannone did it again. The man has the ability to take an existing HIPHOP track, add an entirely different beat to it and have it sound so authentic that if you didn’t know any better, you’d think it was the original version.
First Max Tannone hit us up with Mos Dub and Dub Kweli and now he presents us with something slightly different from his previous projects … ”Ghostfunk”. Released in July 2011, Ghostfunk pairs one of his favorite hip-hop artists, Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah, with vintage African funk, high-life, and psychedelic rock music. Enjoy!!

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from my man Stalley. The beats as well his rhymes are always on point. Apparently I’m not the only one who seems to think so cause he got signed to Rick Ross Maybach Music Group somewhere in April of 2011 . That is around the time he dropped of my musical radar.
Luckily he can’t stay away for long and presented the visuals to his wisdom infused track “Pound” a few days ago. If you didn’t download his free release Lincoln Way Nights a while ago this track might change your mind.

Please forgive me … for I have been sleeping on this Free Guru Legacy EP.
My verdict … it’s decent cause a few of the tracks have to grow on you before can fully appreciate this gift. But I have to admit it has Guru written all over it. You can download here ..
What can I say … the dopest visual reminder for those of you who haven’t downloaded the Elmatic yet. By the way you can cop that when you click here…

Somewhere in July of 2011 Dudley Perkins a.k.a Declaime will release his most focused effort since “Holy Smoke” and it’s called “Self Study”. In case your wondering what the album is about … the title is pretty much self explanatory. In Mr.Perkins words “Self Study is an acknowledgement of the transformation I’ve been going through. This album is a self help tool for me and others to raise the vibration in you to a more positive level.” Yep some deep lyrical content is coming our way. The musical arrangements are equally interesting since it was Georgia Anne Muldrow on production.
But wait there is more … the Self Study CD comes with a full-length DVD, entitled “Interplanetary Peace Talks ” a biographical documentary featuring rare, never-before-seen footage of Declaime with his longtime friends Madlib, Oh No, Kankick & others – in their earliest days of making hip-hop history together in their hometown of Oxnard, CA.
So what does all of this sound like?! I guess like the first single of the album “Quartz” … a track with a laid back Hiphop feel laced with Declaime’s signature fOnk!!
