I know, I know … this is the kind of stuff that needs to be blogged at the beginning of the weekend and not at the end. So if you are reading this in realtime (meaning on sunday morning or evening) I apologize upfront.
The must share I am reffering to are the visuals to the Icelandic trio Steed Lord’s latest “123 If you want me” .
Steed Lord consists of producers M.E.G.A and DEMO and vocal diva KALI and in September of 2010 they released their 2nd full lenght studio album “Heart II Heart”. Before their second release Steed Lord moved their headquarters from Iceland to Los Angeles and the result is a new direction which sounds soulful and is heartpounding yet melancholy. To get a taste of how that sounds you can stream and download the Heart II Heart mini mix below …

Let me start by just saying …. jipieeeeee!! Cause it seems like forever since we’ve heard something from Mr. Fiddler.
Abovementioned is my short take on all of this …of course there is a fully detailed description from PR which you can read below.
Amp Fiddler remix EP
Label: High Noon
Genre: Soul / R&B / Dubstep / House
Accompanying Hundred Strong’s boast-heavy collaborated album, ‘Stylin’ Free’,
is this astonishing Amp Fiddler EP. Stylin’ Free is out February 14th and features
collaborations from Amp Fiddler himself, MC Serocee who has accompanied
artists including Roots Manuva and Toddla T as well as collaborations from Pete
Simpson, Holly Backler, J Todd, and J Malik, it is polished yet powerful album.
Amp Fiddler plays a huge role in Hundred Strong’s peerless album and has been
an influential character on the Detroit soul music scene since the late 90’s. The
album brings together both new and old styles, which shine through effortlessly.
The multi-layered EP includes the album title track ‘Stylin’ Free’ with a bass remix
from Duffstep, who has emerged charmingly onto the UK scene this year. His 2-
step take on ‘Stylin’ Free’ manages to nourish Amp Fiddler’s soulful vocals whilst
creating his own recognisable soulful sound, the two complimenting each other
Also featuring on the Amp Fiddler EP is Andreas Saag’s with three spectacular
house remixes of Hundred Strong’s ‘Time’. Andreas is one of Scandinavia’s top
producers in the house and club jazz scene. His music is played by the likes of
Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier as well as catching the attention of heavy hitters
like Gilles Peterson and the Bugz crew. Andreas’s remixes of Saint Germain’s Rose
Rouge on GAMM and Joy Orbison’s Hyph Mngo have made their mark on the
musical map and his remixes of ‘Time’ are nothing less then uniformly excellent.
Amp Fiddler’s vocals accompanied by Saag’s deep blend of elevating house
mixes have set each other of beautifully, we expect big things for Saag in 2011.

While cruising the A64 acoustic sessions I came across this young lady by the name of Shea Soul and was instantly blown away by the funky soul voice.
Although she is new to me she is not new to the UK funky house scene. Her vocals were already featured on Attacca Pesante’s Make it funky for me and just recently Funk Butcher released the track Pull me Close featuring Shea’s funky vocals. You can stream the track below but my advice is to watch the live accoustic version … so you’ll know why to pay attention next time her name pops up.
Pull Me Close now available on iTunes

Cassius is a French house music duo consisting of producers Philippe Cerboneschi and Hubert Blanc-Francard, better known as Philippe Zdar and Boom Bass. The info aforementioned might not ring a bell but hits like Cassius 1999, The sound of Violence feat. Steve Edwards & I’m a Woman feat. Jocelyn Brown will probably cause lots of people to have a light bulb moment…
Since we are all in tha know here comes the real news … Cassius is about to drop a six track EP by the name of The Rawkers EP expected to be released via Ed Banger somewhere in October 2010. The track I love you so from the upcoming release can be listened to below. The original track by Cassius is of course decent but I have to hand it to Canadian producer Krusha his dubstep remix took decent and made it slamming …Njoy!!

Theo Parrish is a techno/house musician based in Detroit, Michigan. He was born in Washington, DC. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois listening to jazz musicians like Miles Davis, Nina Simone, and George Gershwin. He graduated from the Chicago Academy of the Arts and went to study at the Kansas City Art Institute. While at KCAI, he concentrated on sound sculptures, creating sonic pieces by combining live instruments, human voices, and looped recordings. He received his BFA in 1994 and moved to Michigan to focus on musical projects.
He has recorded music under his own name as well as with Rick Wilhite, Marcellus Malik Pittman and Kenneth Dixon Jr as 3 Chairs. He also puts out releases on his record label, Sound Signature. Another aspect of Theo Parrish’s productions are his re-edits, often of old disco, funk or soul records. He is almost as renowned for his expansive and genre-hopping live DJ sets as his productions.
