We meet Phonte and Nicolay, the trans-Atlantic duo who have collaborated to write and produce some of the smartest and most beautiful R&B we’ve ever heard. This is modern soul with hip hop attitude, and this San Francisco performance of their song from “Connected” brings some much-needed romance back to the stage.
