It’s been a while since we’ve heard from my man Stalley. The beats as well his rhymes are always on point. Apparently I’m not the only one who seems to think so cause he got signed to Rick Ross Maybach Music Group somewhere in April of 2011 . That is around the time he dropped of my musical radar.

Luckily he can’t stay away for long and presented the visuals to his wisdom infused track “Pound” a few days ago. If you didn’t download his free release Lincoln Way Nights a while ago this track might change your mind.

“Hercules” is the first single introducing the sound of Stalley’s forthcoming LP Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music). Stalley, who was born and raised in the working class city of Massillon, says of the project, “This is Midwest music, with a New York mentality.”

I just dig the fact that he dug Aaron Neville’s “Hercules” out of a crate to bring a fresh tune to the masses!!

STALLEY – “BABBLIN” (MUSIC VIDEO) by Noggy

In commemoration of the upcoming 5th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina (Aug. 29, 2010), Director and New Orleans’ own Brandan “BMike” Odums and 2-Cent (www.2-cent.com) present Stalley in “Babblin'” (Prod. by J. Rawls).

BMike was inspired to capture the current state of New Orleans by creating a visual accompaniment to Stalley’s “Babblin'”, off of the Ohio native’s “The Autobiography” (download at http://stalley330.bandcamp.com/), because he felt the song unintentionally represented the existing dichotomy in his city so well. Today, tourists and residents alike enjoy all that New Orleans has to offer, but many never visit the ninth ward or acknowledge the remnants of destruction that remain.

The imagery in “Babblin'” serves as a blunt reminder that the Katrina tragedy should not and cannot be forgotten, but through it all we must unite and rejoice to ensure life and the beautiful city of New Orleans live on.
