It’s finally here the video to the sexiest, grooviest and smoothest track on Corinne Bailey Rae’s album the Sea and after seeing this video I am quite sure about one thing…I am  going to be in the front row when this lady performs at North Sea on the 9th of July 2010.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Another songtress that dropped out of the music scene for a while. The girl from Leeds…Corinne Bailey Rae.

Her very happy and optimistic first single “Put your record on”  proved to be just one of a string of hits from her selftitled album “Corinne Bailey Rae”. Because of the refreshingly different sound the album was very well received. From 2006 through 2008 Corinne Bailey Rae was nominated for several awards and ended up winning among others the very prestigious Grammy award. The sky seemed to be the limit but all of that came to an abrupt end when Jason Rae,  her husband, was found dead in their appartement in Leeds on the 23th of March 2008. After that everything went silent…until last week when the singer showcased songs from her new album ” The Sea” which will be released on 26th of January in the US and on the 1st of February in the UK.

According to the Times online review an overall new sound is to be expected. But since Mrs Bailey Rae’s life tends to be the main inspiration for all of her songs this shouldn’t come as a surprise. I only have her latest song “I’d do it all again” to go on and actually this one sounds pleasantly familiar.
