Almost forgot to remind ya’ll to cop the latest Georgia Anne Muldrow “Seeds”. Produced by Madlib there was 99.9 percent change this release would turn out to be a musical master piece. The blend of the slightly diverse aproach to music of Georgia Anne Muldrow and Madlib turned out to be a stroke of genius. The result is absolutely worthy of a spin.
This should be interesting. Georgia Anne Muldrow’s upcoming release “Seeds” will be entirely produced by DJ/Producer/ Rapper Madlib. Since both artists are known to be creative geniuses when it comes to their own music, the blend of their music intellect can only result in something that will be a feast for your ears. The project will be available on March the 27th.
For now the tittle song of the album can be downloaded for free on the “Rolling Stone Magazine” website. Yep …2012 is already shaping up to be a wonderful year in music.

Available as of today via Itunes is Georgia Anne Muldrows latest full instrumental release by the name of “Vweto” which means gravity in Swahili.
Frequent blog visitors might have the feeling that whatever this album is going to be about they’ve probably heard it before since this is Georgia Anne’s umptiest release so far. All we have to say is that you think you know … but you have no idea and to change all of that you can stream the track Fonkrocker below. The official release date is set for the 11th of January 2011.

Georgia Anne Muldrow’s jazz persona is named is Jyoti – a Sanscrit word meaning “light”- and it is the name given to her from “the great and masterful ancestor” Alice Coltrane who was a family friend. Her first record composed as Jyoti is entitled “Ocotea
Entirely instrumental, the 9 track experience draws from an ocean of influences such as Hendrix’s Band of Gypsys, Swamini Truiyasangitanada’s Monastic Trio, Charlie Mingus, Eric Dolphy, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Henry Threadgill, Sun Ra, and Stevie Wonder – to whom she dedicates a track “Stevelander”.

Remixing Suite for Ma Dukes is a brave undertaking. Several producers and MCs at first accepted and then declined the job. In the end we think we got the right person. It is with great pleasure on the week of Mothers Day to release this remix. Done while mothering by none other than Georgia Ann Muldrow. This project began as an homage to one mothers love (Ma Dukes) and has now been remixed by another (Georgia) with her son Nokware in her lap. Two incredible women, one amazing track. Remixed.

At the begining of 2010 I had this feeling that this was going to be a great year in music and now I know for sure. Why?
Only a month after the release of their album, SomeOthaShip, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Declaime AKA Dudley Perkins are proud to announce the founding of their own label, SomeOthaShip Connect. With distribution deals in place with E1 Music (physical and digital) and Fat Beats Records (vinyl) and a number of releases lined up already for 2010, including spring releases from Darryl Moore and Declaime, the label promises a bright future and fresh start for the duo.
SomeOthaShip Connect is delivering two albums on May 4th, Declaime’s FONK and Darryl Moore’s Where I’m At. A veteran of hip-hop, Declaime delivers on FONK, combining his own emcee forte with beats from luminary producer Quazedelic (Snoop Dogg, George Clinton, Angie Stone) to generate a sound brimming with rhymes and vivid hooks. The album’s initial single “Fame” will be available through iTunes beginning April 6th. New enterprising poet/singer, Darryl Moore is also not to be overlooked with his debut release, Where I’m At. The artist feeds Soul-hungry music lovers with eloquent lyrics and soulful melodies. “He’s an amazing poet, just as amazing as his singing,” praises Georgia. Previously, Darryl Moore has worked with the likes Bobby Brown, Gorilla Zoe & Cornel West.
Following these early May releases is a bevy of releases to follow. Georgia is releasing her own experimental jazz album, Ocotea, June 15th, while preparing for a new G&D album to be released later in the year. Her single “I Had A Revelation,” recorded at the legendary Agape Church in LA is also out on iTunes April 6th. In addition to forthcoming releases from newly signed artists Kadence, Stacy Epps, Rickie BB, Oji, Quazedelic AKA Stan Sly, and Reverend Michael Beckwith, SomeOthaShip Connect is also planning the release of books and comics as well, embarking on ventures big and small with their mission statement: “We are sailing, with intention, upon the shores of this reality, with a message of FONK and light for the whole planet.” (source: http://www.audibletreats.com/)

This part is going to be a bit of topic but for those of you who are really into Nu Soul music and think that you have seen the interviewer before. Your right!! Mr. Russell Taylor might not be the most entertaining interviewer but he sure as hell is one skilled singer. Though he doesn’t exactly have a Rahsaan Patterson like sound, he surely has got a Rahsaan Patterson like voice. At this point he’s got one musicvideo for his track PRESS PAUSE from his album Confessional!! Just check him out.
