Here it is….the video for Janelle Monae’s second single Cold War. Unlike Tightrope a relatively simple and relaxed one. If you ask me the best approach when you take the message of the song into account.

I guess the countdown is over cause Janelle Monae’s Arch Android finally dropped yesterday and afcourse I think it rocks!! But I’d like you to make up your own mind whether to cop this release or not.

Whether or not the following information came from Ryan Wakeman, WARPA, the Gaiming community or Janelle Monáe’s journals, Max Stellings and the Palace of the Dogs Archives is inconclusive at this time…What is known or agreed upon is that this information stems from an official entry on The ArchAndroid Crown in the Living Cyktionary, a 28th Century encyclopedia…
The ArchAndroid Crown: Designed by Zoman Ignatius, the half-elf, half-human mystic, reportedly 500 years ago. According to legend, the crown has several magic properties, as well as innovative technologies that can be employed only by The ArchAndroid. Zoman was a consummate inventor, artist and sculptor, a cross between Tesla and Da Vinci, and as such, he designed the crown to be a work of beauty that would embody the very spirit of Metropolis. According to legend, the crown features prominent Metropolis buildings and towers that will light up radiantly when the one and only true ArchAndroid wears the crown. According to the Daily Horos, this opulent headdress was stolen from the vaults in the Black House, reportedly by 1954, in October of 2715. Several members of 1954 were hunted down and executed for this crime. But the crown was never found. Many claim it has been secreted away to the Wonderground. There is also word that in the year 2010, several 1954 operatives have crafted a replica of this historic headdress to be worn by Janelle Monáe in anticipation for her album The ArchAndroid…no word on whether or not this replica has magic properties… The Living Cyktionary, 9th Edition, 2719

Metropolis Suites II and III are finished, and they’re going to be coming out together as a whole album. The name of this particular piece of work is “The Ark Android“ and this release will drop on the 18th of May 2010. If you are not familiar with Janelle Monae I suggest you read Janelle Monae – The Chase II & III: The Ark Android. In this particular post I tell everybody about her and the fact that she seems to be nuts. But I have to say I stand corrected because after listening to the lyrics of her two most recent releases Tightrope and Cold War…this “alien – girl” seems to know all about human nature.
Janelle Monae had the following to say about her upcoming release
It’s a self-realisation album. Basically Cindi from this moment realises her super powers and she realises the things that make her unique and she embraces them. She realises that she can be the one, sort of like Neo (from the Matrix), to change the android community. The Ark Android is also a mythical figure that went around for centuries and centuries, and it was said that when The Ark Android would come that it would lead the androids to freedom and they won’t be discriminated against, and some of the problems they’ve had for centuries would be erased.
I’m really excited for you guys to hear the music. We worked with the symphony orchestra, we went to Turkey and Prague and experimented with different sounds. I hope people really respect the musicianship. We put a lot of hard work into it, but we had a lot of fun.
Yep Janelle Monáe’s got a new joint Tightrope is the first single from her forthcoming album, The ArchAndroid, due May 18 via Wondaland Arts Society/Bad Boy. “Tightrope”, along with another new one called “Cold War”, will be available to purchase on Janelle’s site starting this Friday, February 12. Janelle Monae…if you don’t know her by now it ‘s about time to get you up to speed.
Janelle Monae happens to be this very gifted and if you ask me extremely crazy hot singer/producer and when I say crazy I most definitely mean totally nuts!!
Why? On her website and almost anywhere else she is introduced as the girl from another planet and she seems to be very serious about that. After being featured on the soundtrack of Idlewild (album and movie by Outkast) she released the first of an originally planned four Metropolis installments, or suites, an EP entitled The Chase suite I in 2007 . Inspired by Fritz Lang’s 1927 science fiction classic, Metropolis. is the first of four planned releases designed as easily processible EPs detailing the life of a rebellious soul-equipped android by the name of Cindi Mayweather who risks disassembly by falling in love with a human. This all takes place in the year 2719 and believe it or not P. Diddy seemed to like all of this so much he signed her to Bad Boy records and re-released The Chase Suite I in 2008.
The reason I am telling you all of this is because The Chase suite II and III will be released in early 2010 as a whole CD. This particular project is called the Ark Android and is about Cindi Mayweather discovering her super powers and did I already mention her probably being totally nuts!!
Nevertheless the madness doesn’t effect her creativity because when you get rid of the whole android – concept what is left is a new wave, punk rock, soulful and very alternative collection of tunes which sound really good. Anyways just check her out.
